Heather Jelks - Surgical Technician, Hospital Manager

${name}

Heather Jelks graduated from Bel-Rea School of Veterinary Technology in 2005.

After 10 years working in emergency medicine, she joined Animal Dental and Surgery Specialists of Castle Pines as a surgical technician. As she grew into her role and became the surgery supervisor, she attended a leadership event and realized her true passion was with the people of veterinary medicine. She became our practice manager in 2016 and says she has enjoyed working with her peers to help the hospital advance its veterinary care, while giving each staff member the opportunity to grow in their roles.

Aside from Animal Dental and Surgery Specialists of Castle Pines, Heather's passion is her rescue pugs. She has rescued 3 pugs from the China meat trade, and she is a foster of geriatric, disabled pugs. You can always find a pug at her desk, so ask to say hi to them. They will love it!

When she is not at work, her favorite thing to do is spend time with her husband and daughter, reading, watching movies (probably Marvel movies), and crafting.
